In the Valley of the Kings, where the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun is buried, silver, copper and lead alloys and primitive brass trumpets have been found.

Today, brass, meaning ‘brass’ in brass band, has come to mean musical instrument by word alone. We have even developed the brass tube into a performance using the sound of an engine, known as a call.

We further explore this possibility by attempting a session with a drummer to verify that the engine sound, which is artificially wrenched out in small increments, is music.
